Sheep trucks unloading, Ennis packing his mules.

BASQUE: (watching Ennis)
Don't let 'em stray. Joe'll have your ass if you do.

(Several beautiful scenes with no dialog)

The thousand sheep, dogs, horses, Jack and Ennis move up onto the mountainside.

Jack and Ennis tend the sheep, whistle at the dogs, then we see them both alone, lost in their own thoughts.

Ennis and Jack set up their camp by a stream.

Jack slowly rides off to spend the night alone with the sheep, looks longingly down the mountain at Ennis’s bright campfire.

In the morning he comes back to camp for breakfast with Ennis.

several more beautiful scenes with no dialog -

Jack mounts his horse to head to the sheep, she crow hops a little, meanwhile . . .

Ennis watches him ride off (longingly?).

Jack’s up on the mountain, naps with the dogs and sheep.

Ennis down in camp whittles a wood horse to while away the time.

Next scene:

Ennis cleans up the campfire from a meal, Jack mounts his horse to ride back to the sheep.

JACK shouts back to Ennis as he rides off:

No more beans!

Ennis leaves with the animals.Suddenly,a bear appears and the mule throw him on the ground.Ennis runs, trying also to pick some of the supplies.
Meanwhile,Jack returns to the camp and gets surprised of not finding Ennis. We see him, already by night, sitting next to the bonfire and drinking whiskey. At the end,Ennis arrives groaning and in bad humour. He doesn´t seem to realise his fellow is there.
Ennis’s eyes gone bright with shock, mouth opening then closing again. “Love?” Ennis said finally, voice strangling in his throat.

Jack smiled sad. “Yeah, Ennis. Love.” Leaned forward and kissed Ennis’s temple, whispered, “What’d you think it was, all this time?”

JACK (in full on bitch mode): Where the hell you been? I'm up with the sheep all day, come back here hungry as hell and all I find is beans.

Ennis storms past him and Jack catches sight of the cut on his head. His tone softens and he continues,

What in the hell happened, Ennis?

Jack takes off his bandana, wets it and presses it to Ennis's head. Ennis takes it off him, their fingers brushing. Jack then offers Ennis the water canteen but Ennis wants something stronger

Jack smiling yells: Whoeee! Yeah! Hits Ennis on the shoulder.

Ennis turns and hits Jack back as he get up. They both laugh.  <^(
