Thanks from me too, mods. The newsletter was a perfect tribute.

Christopher Nolan, accepting the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe on Heath's behalf.

He was, as an actor and a professional and a human being, one of a kind

Charles Roven, accepting Heath's BAFTA.

This award tonight would have humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here — his peers within an industry he so loved.

Kim Ledger, accepting Heath's Oscar.

The way he entered our lives was through that route, as a celebrity, as a gifted actor we admired.  With good references as a human being.
That's how we met him.  But that was only a means to get this beautiful soul into the lives of those who could really love him.  Which is a huge
difference.  Fans say good-bye and walk away, and find another focus. Fans weep a day or two, then forget. It was only the means of meeting
him, LJN, for we were meant to meet, for we were and are, in some unexplainable way, a real part of his true family.
That you are still grieving so terribly, and that so many of the rest of us are, means we went past the means of introduction long ago, and
loved him for who he was.  And it also means, you are different in a way that makes you so much to the better.  There are those who could
not love.  You did.  You weren't a fan, LJN, you were far more-you were part of a family that loved him so very much.  I am in great hurt
over what tpe hoped wasn't true but could be- the tragedy that his defense walls were so strong, he didn't know--we loved him for himself.
Stay strong, and please know that when the storm hit, you and others were there to stand up for the rest of us, and go there, as you did.
Fans go away.  Family stays.  We all love you for having seen what we saw, and for being who you are.  None of us should be worried or
embarrassed over our tears.  We have a reason to weep.  We met a good and kind and decent man, and life hit him too hard, too soon.

Dear Tony, what a great post. Thank you so much. It is just enlightening.  :ghug:

DDL's tribute on the SAG awards moved me to tears this morning. It was so heartfelt and touching - a real touch of class.

Pardon me, I'm in tears. I did just see Daniel Day's tribute to Heath on the SAG awards. I am going to be late to work, so I'm going to make this quick. I made a fanvid. I'm sorry this might not be in the exactly right spot, but to me, we all have our own tributes. Please, if you have a few minutes watch this. Thank you. God bless.

God bless you, Heath.  :\'(  ^f^
Great video!!.. I'm a mess now  :\'(

I took me awhile to even come here.   You see Jack died and in my mind now Ennis has died as well.  I liked to think that Ennis was still alive and enjoying his grandchildren.

What a tremendous loss.   He was a very unique actor with a range beyond his years.  He through himself into all of his roles.  He did not act the part he became the character as real and as alive as I have ever seen in an actor.  That is why the film Brokeback Mountains grabbed our hearts and went clear to our soul living there forever.

The film took me on a journey that was both heartwarming, sad and an elightenment that continues to astonish me.

I am simply very sad.   I am still in shock.  I still want it to be not true.   It is a difficult letting go of him.  Isn't this amazing what his performance along with Jake Gyllenhall and the writing of Annie did to all of us.

Me a straight married mom with 4 kids learning that all love is the same with the same intensity and passion as any great love.

Goodbye Heath - You have no idea how you affected my life.  You were a gift to the world and I think you were put here to make the film BBM to send us a message that we all need love and when we find that "great love" it is precious.

Daniel Day-LewisDaniel Day-Lewis accepts his award for “There Will Be Blood.”
“Heath Ledger gave it to me,” he said. “We wanted to follow him and yet we were afraid to follow him.”
“In Brokeback Mountain, he was unique. He was perfect. The scene in the trailer at the end of the movie was as moving as anything we have ever seen. I’d like to dedicate this award to him.

That's is DDL's quote from his acceptance speech .. <^(

How sweet is that!!!!

I am still in complete shock and it has been a few days now. When I first heard the news I just broke down and cried. I don't think i've cried that hard in my life. I still cry whenever I think about it. I didn't know him personally but I was a huge fan of his and it feels like I had just lost a best friend. I decided I had to come on here because I knew all of you would be feeling the same also.

I am heartbroken and devastated  :\'(

You are not alone in not reading tributes or anything like that.  :ghug: I think it's a form of self protection. I'm not ready to see that stuff either. I feel like I should but I can't right now. I can't go into those threads either- I'm glad others are able to but for some of it seems the world is still standing still. And that's okay too. Like I just said to Lil Dwarf- we all grieve and handle things in our own way. And there's no logic when it comes to grief.  :ghug: That is a beautiful song  :\'( I hope you start feeling a little better soon.  :ghug:
Thanks for your kind words, dear;they're as a relief for me indeed... :^^)  You're right in that everybody has their own ways of self-protecting or even,to fight against the pain. These are mine, wrong or nor,but I admire deeply these ones who are able to read all the tributes and watch BBM as a homage to Heath.Yours and mine way to homage him are remembering him in a quieter way,at least now...And yes,the grief logical is illogical, but it's how we feel.I also hope you start feeling better soon;we get it,you'll see. :ghug:
Ennis’s eyes gone bright with shock, mouth opening then closing again. “Love?” Ennis said finally, voice strangling in his throat.

Jack smiled sad. “Yeah, Ennis. Love.” Leaned forward and kissed Ennis’s temple, whispered, “What’d you think it was, all this time?”

Yesterday I saw the "Order",  and that final scene where Heath walk down the corridor, his arms out like wings, that just got me right in the heart.  I liked Daniel Day-Lewis tribute to Heath, he knew like all of us what a gift this man had.  I can't really express what I feel in words.  Sorry.

You're expressing yourself perfectly.  It's hard to know if what we are saying makes any kind of sense, I feel that way myself, but just knowing that I can come here and express myself whether it makes sense or not is such a comfort to me.  Just being here, with all of you, knowing that you are all feeling what I'm feeling, helps me so much.   :ghug:

lil_dwarf, Ethan & LuvJackNasty went to the Soho flat today and were able to leave there our tribute, I spoke with both of them when they were on the spot.  So far, it's not blocked.

Again, I want to express special thanks to lil_dwarf, Ethan & LuvJackNasty for presenting this tribute.  I felt at peace this weekend, knowing that we are not wanting in our love for him and his memory.

Dear friends -

I have no candle here with me to light.   Instead I'll post words to a haunting song, of death and dreams and brightness gone to soon.

Gentle Heath, may you rest peacefully in the light of candles that burn in remembrance of you.  :ghug:

Bright Eyes
Art Garfunkel

Is it a kind of dream,
Floating out on the tide,
Following the river of death downstream,
or is it a dream?

***

Bright eyes,
burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.

The past week still fells like a dream.  But he is real, even in death.

Thanks Missy.

Hello,

I have lurked at this site for months but have now finally joined. I am deeply saddened by Heath's passing. I have been a fan of his for years. I just wanted to share a poem and a song that helped me through my mother's death, which was ironically on Janurary 22, 2005. I hope this brings some comfort to all those so hurt and lost from this sad and terrible tradedgy.

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next room,
I am I and you are you;
Whatever we were to each other, That we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used,
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we shared together.
Let my name ever be the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant,
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.

-Henry Scott Holland, Canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London

Didn't Want to say Goodbye
Ari Hest

In a room draped in blue
I am thinking of you
I am tired, I can't sleep
And for you I will weep
In a flash, you are gone
Yet around me life is calm
I cannot understand
Is this part of the plan?
I get cards with bouquets
But they can't take your place
I have dreams about us
But I always wake up
I can ask all I please
I can beg down on my knees
For a reason, for a sign
But these answers I wont find
And I will weep
Can you hear me?
Cant you tell me why?
Ill go on without you
And what's left for me to do
But to stay where I am
In my world of pretend
And I wont know until I die
If my faith was but a lie
Til then you'll hear it in my cry
I didn't want to say goodbye to you

My thoughts and prayers are with Heath's family and friends. Mostly with Matilda who I know feel a connection too, we both lost parents on the same day. I pray for Michelle and hope she will be ok. I pray for Jake to be strong and be the best godfather to that sweet little girl and keep Heath's memory alive for her.

-Lauren

Welcome, Lauren.  And thank you so much for sharing these with us.
